Glenn C. Miller
New to the Creative Workshop! As a youngster, Glenn Miller took art classes at the Creative Workshop with Edna Weeks Smith and vividly remembers flinging paint on the lawn. He has continued to sketch, draw, photograph, and paint throughout his life. We are happy to bring him in as a teacher of Watercolor, a subject he is knowledgeable and passionate about.
Glenn has exhibited in juried shows in Michigan–including the Michigan Water Color Society and The Detroit Scarab club, at the Rochester Institute of Technology, the Pat Rini Rohr Gallery in Canandaigua, Creative Workshop Student Exhibits and gallery shows sponsored by the Tuesday Artist’s Breakfast Group. Glenn is an active member of Dick Kane’s Advanced Watercolor class, the Tuesday Artist’s Breakfast Group, and is a past member of the Ann Arbor Art Association and South Oakland Art Associations in Southeastern Michigan. His paintings are included in private collections in Michigan, Ohio and New York.
Glenn is a creative professional with experience in commercial photo-finishing and teaching photographic processes and arts at the college level. He retired from teaching in the School of Photographic Arts and Sciences at Rochester Institute of Technology in 2011. He loves teaching painting and believes that anyone can make better art than they think they can, he’s happy to help you learn. He looks forward to individual and classroom instruction, teaching both “the rules” of working in watercolor (color, composition, and concept), and how to break them (creativity).
