Fred (aka Fritz) Lipp has taught Advanced Painting for more than 20 years at the Creative Workshop, where he has helped build a vibrant and supportive community of painters. Fred teaches painting as a visual adventure emphasizing careful observation and analysis while giving students thoughtful advice.
Fred earned an MFA at Rochester Institute of Technology and a BA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He also attended the University of Illinois, University of Chicago, and Yale University Music and Art Program.
He has had several solo exhibitions and numerous national group shows. His sculpture commissions are installed at RIT and Rochester General Hospital. His work is also in collections including the Memorial Art Gallery, Trenton State College, RIT and Marine Midland Bank. He is a retired professor at the RIT’s College of Imaging Arts and Sciences.
