A groups of college students listening to Lucy Durking talking about a painting in MAG's galleries
Lucy Winters Durkin giving a tour in 2017

Lucy Winters Durkin is a busy art historian and teacher here in the Rochester community. In addition to teaching here at MAG, she has taught art history at the Eastman School of Music since 1996, where, in her words, she inflicts culture on unsuspecting undergraduates. Her favorite part of teaching is making art more accessible, both by analyzing the choices an artist makes in creating a particular work and understanding its historical context. Lucy easily gets distracted by jigsaw and crossword puzzles, enjoys cooking with friends, and finds tranquility in kayaking and listening to the loons at their cottage in the Adirondacks.
