Brooks Girsch
New to the Workshop! Brooks Girsch teaches art as a way of looking and of thinking that can be explored in any medium—from paint to clay and back again– and champions art making as a universally accessible and deeply human practice. Her classroom is a welcoming space to learn new skills, connect and enjoy creating. She has a particular affinity for children and beginners.

She is an experienced painter in oils and a printmaker in a range of techniques including lithography and intaglio etching. Brooks has practiced professionally in New York City and London for 10 and 5 years respectively and is a returning Rochester native. She has a degree in fine art from Columbia University and has been
awarded residencies at the Vermont Studio Center, Yaddo, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation, and an Ox-Bow residency Joan Mitchell Foundation fellowship. She has exhibited work in New York, Rochester, Washington, D.C, Chicago, and London, U.K.
