not your mother's clothesline!
Rochester’s largest and longest-running fine art and crafts festival is not your mother’s Clothesline! After 53 years, art is the still the main focus, but in recent years we’ve added activities for the whole family.
live on the soundstage
All day Saturday and Sunday, enjoy live entertainment on the main soundstage on the back lawn, on the front stage near the museum steps, around the grounds and in the Gallery.

food and drink
Hungry? We'll have food for every taste. Enjoy diverse fare from Bayou Billy, Bunny’s Mediterranean, Camille's Sidewalk Cafe (new this year), Chef Marco, Papa John's, Red Osier and Simply Crepes. Just want a snack? Look for Corn Hill Creamery, Gallery Bakery & Café (featuring treats from Genesee Bakery) or Hal’s Kountry Kettle Korn. To wash it all down, stop by the tents operated by Canaltown Coffee Roasters, Coca-Cola, Heron Hills Winery and Genesee Brewing Co.
creative workshop open house / paint pen
From 11 am to 4 pm both days, learn about Creative Workshop fall and winter classes for kids, teens and adults. On our entrance patio, enjoy drawing, painting, framing, sculpture, clay and jewelry demonstrations by Workshop artists. Inside, see our latest faculty show, meet the Workshop team and sign up for a class. (All course registrations are $5 off during open house.) Kids can also enjoy the Paint Pen—free, supervised art activities for ages 4–7 and 8–12 in classrooms 7 and 9; sign in your child for up to one hour. Open House schedule
