In his new book, The Age of Insight, Nobel Prize-winning neuroscientist Eric R. Kandel takes us to Vienna 1900, where leaders in science, medicine and art began a revolution that changed forever how we think about the human mind--and how mind and brain relate to art.
Dr. Kandel is Kavli Professor and University Professor at Columbia University and senior investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. He received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2000. His other books include a memoir, In Search of Memory: The Emergence of a New Science of Mind.
His lecture will be followed by a booksigning.
