In Remembrance: Lynne Lovejoy

Lynne Lovejoy

Lynne LovejoyLynne Lovejoy was a philanthropic champion of the Rochester community. A Director’s Circle member for more than 30 years, she generously gave to MAG capital projects, and educational programs. She also donated 17 important works of art to our permanent collection, including Chinese ceramics, Old Master painting, and contemporary art.

In recognition of a gift of $250,000 to the museum, University President Joel Seligman, MAG Director Grant Holcomb, and MAG Board President Andy Gallina honored Lynne on September 2, 2009 by dedicating the Lynne Lovejoy Parlor in her honor.

On December 5, 2014, a reception was held in the Lovejoy Parlor to celebrate Lynne on her 100th birthday. To mark the occasion, President Seligman presented Lynne with the George Eastman Medal, the highest University award for achievement and service.

Lynne died on Wednesday, September 28. We extend our condolences to her family, and we will cherish the many memories we have of her.
