Nancy Buckett, former owner of the Oxford Gallery, died April 6, 2011, after a short illness. Nancy was a longtime member and former officer of the Gallery Council and leaves many dear friends at MAG.
Her involvement with the Gallery went back more than three decades. In 1976, Nancy (at far left in photo) was first vice president of the Council; she is shown with other Board members, including president Essie Germanow (center) and recording secretary Emille Allen (second from right).
A tireless friend of the arts, Nancy also served as Board President of the Aesthetic Education Institute and as a Board nember of Friends of the School of the Arts, Garth Fagan Dance, Rochester Art Dealers Association, The James P. Wilmot Cancer Center and Friends of the Rochester Public Library. She was the owner of the Oxford Gallery for ten years, and then an art appraiser until her retirement.
The public is invited to remember Nancy Monday, May 23 at 6 pm at MAG.
