On October 3, 2010, a record 2,126 visitors were on hand for MAG’s annual Hispanic/Latino Heritage Family Day. They enjoyed hands-on art activities, music and dance performances, a talk on Maya society and culture, tours of the collection, and cultural displays representing more than 20 countries.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was a ceremony marking Borinquen Dance Theatre’s 29th anniversary. Garth Fagan delivered moving remarks on Borinquen founder Nydia Padilla-Rodriguez, who began her career with his “Bottom of the Bucket But” dance group.
