MAG/Outdoor Updates

Creative Workshop is Open for Classes, but the entryway is closed due to construction and improvements. Beginning Monday June 10th, the usual entrance to the Creative Workshop will be closed for safety. Parking lots and normal parking spaces will not be affected. Students and visitors to the Workshop will need to use one of the main Gallery entrances. Please see the stars highlighted on the map below.

One entrance is located off of University next to the Gallery Store and a second located on the opposite side of the building (marked with a blue awning) next to the Max at the Gallery restaurant. Once in the building you’ll make your way down one level, either by the stairs or by the elevator (also marked on the map below), into the Creative Workshop. Assistance is available.
Construction surrounding the Creative Workshop

The Sculpture Park will soon include a landscaped brick plaza outside the Creative Workshop, with an attractive stair-less entrance and a new sculptural addition by Mary Taylor titled The Filly. In addition, work will begin on the Plaza near the Goodman Street entrance that will hold Albert Paley’s Soliloquy. All work will be completed by the M&T Bank Clothesline Festival, September 7 & 8, 2013.

  • Landscaping, brickwork and a paved plaza will provide an attractive way into the Gallery’s art school, as well as an inviting place to sit and stroll. Construction is expected to be completed in time for this year’s M&T Bank Clothesline Festival (September 7 & 8).Creative Workshop PlazaRendering & plan: Bayer Landscape Architecture PLLC.
  • Better access to your creativity. The new entrance to the Creative Workshop will be accessible for all audiences and increase opportunities to teach outside. Art in the Park
