Tours & Groups

Public Tours

Tours led by Gallery docents are offered:
Thursdays at 6 pm
Fridays at 2 pm (September–June)
Sundays at 1 pm (September–June)

Friday and Sunday tours usually highlight major exhibitions. From July 1 through Clothesline weekend, tours are offered on Thursday evenings only. Check our calendar of tour listings for exact dates & times.

All tours are free with Gallery admission.  For more information, call 585.276.8900.

Thanks to the generosity of the Elizabeth L. and Donald M. Cohn Endowment, admission is free for visitors touring MAG from the community’s human services organizations. Please contact Mary Ann Monley to learn more about this generous program.

School and Group Tours

School and group tours are available by appointment. We welcome motorcoach and AAA groups for an afternoon in the Gallery as well. Ample bus parking and drop off points are available. There are public restrooms. Open seven days a week, our Sculpture Park offers an area to sit and enjoy the public art, a chance to people watch or a box lunch. Experience a deeper level of understanding by listening to our growing roster of cell phone tours. Use your cell phone to call 585.627.4132; when prompted, enter the tour stop number that you’ll find near selected works. Accessibility

Handicapped access is available off the University entrance, Cutler parking as well as the lot off the back driveway; you may access from Goodman Street or Prince Street, park in designated spots behind the Gallery and enter under the blue awning. A limited number of wheelchairs are available for museum visitors.

To schedule a sign language interpreter, a touch tour for the blind, or to request an events calendar in Braille or large print version, call the education department at 585.276.8971 or contact Kerry Donovan. Deaf and hard-of-hearing people may also call via Relay Service.
